IoT Parking System
In this project the client was looking to develop a unique parking barrier system for deployment to undercover car parks and outdoor parking areas.
Boost Design was engaged on the electronics and firmware component of the product development and conducted the following activities:
- Review the Client’s project and business objectives, and determine the most suitable wireless IoT technology platforms in order to achieve desired outcome
- Research, identify and source electronic and electro-mechanical components of the system, including selection of suitable barrier driver motors, vehicle detection sensors, wireless transceivers, microprocessors, batteries etc
- Develop a LoRaWAN communications system suitable for transmitting parking data over long distances
- Develop Bluetooth communications to allow vehicle drivers to control parking barriers without the need for bluetooth pairing
- Design and development of electronics schematics and PCBAs
- Development of expanded versions of the electronics and firmware, suitable for installation into multiple parking applications
- Production of a small number of prototypes for user testing, and perform integration testing with supplied mechanical designs
- Development of an electronics production test system
- Handover of designs for quantity manufacture
